Mason Eli Holden

Announcing the arrival of Mason Eli Holden. Mason was born March 7th at 6:23pm, 6 weeks early. Mason weighed 5lbs 5oz and was 18 and 1/2 inches long. He spent 4 days in the NICU but is home now doing great! Doctors told us to be prepared that he would spend several days in the NICU on a ventilator because his lungs were so immature. But, through our miraculous creator Jesus Christ, Mason was born crying and breathing on his own. He only went to the NICU for closer monitoring.

Oh..what a crazy December! Everything from kidney stones to all the rush of Christmas travel. On the morning of December 8th I woke up with what I thought was a bad UTI..and was assured by my doctor that was the case. But by 3pm the pain was so excruciating that I thoughtI could be in preterm labor for the 3rd time..so, I called my doctor back and explained to the nurse again that the pain was very severe and with the vomiting I thought it could be something more severe. But, I was reassured again that once the antibiotics got into my system that the pain would ease. In the back of my mind I kept thinking to myself "Ok Brandi, you are a RN, you know this is not just a UTI...but Dr. knows best". So, Monday night I went onto the ER where they sent me up to Labor & Delivery. They monitored me and the baby for about an hour..I wasn't contracting..so they sent me home...YES...they sent me home!! I kept telling them there is something wrong. I stayed up all night long vomiting and was in excruicating pain. So, Tuesday morning I called my doctor for the 3rd time and demanded to be seen. I told them that I thought that I could have a kidney stone. They sent me for a pelvic ultrasound which showed no function in my right kidney because it was blocked by a stone. So, I was immediately hospitalized and given a bolus of fluid while awaiting possible procedure to help pass the stone. But..guess what? By the grace of God the stone passed into the bladder without having to have any kind of procedure done.

Christmas was soooo much fun this year with a 18 month and 3 year old. We traveled to Alabama to visit with my family the weekend before Christmas. Then we woke up at home on Christmas morning for the 1st time ever. Then traveled back to Alabama on Christmas Day to visit with William's family. It was so exciting getting to watch Marlee and the expressions on her face when she woke up Christmas morning and saw her Kitchen that she had ask Santa for. I really think Sawyer is enjoying it as much as she. He got a basketball goal from Santa and absolutely loves it!!

I am about 27 weeks pregnant now..still no problems..Thank you Jesus!! As many of you know I have gone into labor at 30 weeks with both of the previous pregnancies. Last Thursday Marlee, Sawyer and I headed to Nashville to pick out furniture and bedding for the new baby boy. Marlee absolutely loved every minute of it...and told everyone that we saw that she was getting another Baby Brother. Well..gotta go...got 2 little ones waking from naps at this time!!
